The Hennessey Venom GT Spyder has a top speed of 265.6 miles per hour. That is a world record by the way. Only 3 World Record Edition Venom GT Spyder’s exist. Get ready to cough up US $1.3 million if you plan on getting one.

Legally one of the fastest convertible car in the world,  Hennessey Venom GT Spyder has a twin-turbo 7.0-Litre V8 with 1,451 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. Driving it would be like a satisfying six course gourmet meal. Slurp!

It is capable of 0-60 mph in less than 2.4 seconds, and 0-200 mph in less than 13 seconds. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler is auctioning his GT Spyder off, so start bidding if you want one.

Bugatti are no strangers to making fast cars. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse has a top speed of 254 MPH. Before the Hennessey Venom GT, this was the ruler of the Convertible fast car realm.

Packing an 8.0-litre 16-cylinder engine with 4 turbos, it produces 1200 BHP. Only 150 were build. At US $2.35 million, they are all sold and graciously sitting in a Sheikh’s garage. A true statement of power and wealth, eh?!

Swedish Hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg produced only 18 examples of this fascinating beast. Capable of speeds upto 273 mph, the Agera R is a true engineering marvel. It has a removable roof that can be stowed in a compartment in the front hood.

A 5.0-litre V8 in the Koenigsegg Agera R produces nearly 1140 HP, capable of hitting 200 mph in under 18 seconds. Body and chassis of this fast convertible car are made entirely out of Kevlar and Aluminum. At 1330 kg, this is a light aircraft on wheels.

This was the last of the Mclaren SLR line built by Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss was built to commemorate Mercedes-Benz’s win in Mille Miglia in 1955. It is named in honor of British racing driver Sir Stirling Moss.

Lacking a roof or a windscreen, this open-cockpit machine is a throwback to the 50’s. A 5.4-litre supercharged V8 produces 641 HP, propelling it to a top speed of 220 MPH. Only 75 were built, which makes them extremely rare and fitting for our list of fastest convertible cars.

Fastest Convertible Supercars: Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster

The menacing looks and sharp lines of the Lamborghini Aventador SV aren’t just for show. This is a seriously fast car. The Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce Roadster is a 740 HP, fire-spewing monster. The open-top appeal is accentuated by brutal performance with a top speed of 217 MPH.

The carbon-fiber panels, diffuser and rear-wing make it look like a fighter-jet on wheels. This mad bull’s 6.5-litre V12 engine sounds ungodly, and a 0-60 mph time under 3 seconds is simply epic.
