What’s the most exciting part of auto shows? Apart from the fact that one gets to see the latest Ferraris and Lambos before they hit Jay Leno’s garage? The Futuristic cars, of course! Which is why we’ve got you, our low down in no particular order, of the most exciting Concept cars From Frankfurt Auto Show 2015..

Unless Hyundai has plans of secretly entering Le Mans anytime soon, this is a car that will exist only for demo and not for sale. Virtually, the concept is designed around a hydrogen fuel cell that develops an output of over 850 bhp. This can only mean one thing, this is not a car, it’s a Spaceship!
Hyundai has said that the car is designed to look like it’s floating, with a boat shaped underbody. The Hyundai concept car was styled by the manufacturer’s in-house design team. It is available to download and drive virtually in the Gran Turismo 6 Playstation game.
Meet what could be the latest addition to the Nissan Family, the Nissan Gripz. Nissan concept car is the athlete of the family because it is strong and really fast. Nissan claims that the Gripz is a radically new type of sports car. This is definitely the car that will get heads turning when you drive by, in it.
The Nissan Gripz Concept blends the ability and practicality of a compact crossover with the excitement and performance of a sports car. The concept does so without side mirrors. Instead, it uses cameras mounted in the ‘gills’, on the front wings. Fancy, eh? This 2+2 crossover has plenty of carbon-fiber parts that make it really light and easy to maneuver.
Mercedes comes up with one of the most astounding concepts. This time it is the Mercedes Benz IAA. Jaw dropping design this …. The minimalistic exterior with a transparent roof, blends into the interiors of the car with hints of subtlety and seamless design.
The Merc concept car actually can change its shape with speed. The rear extends, increasing its length by 390mm, front flaps in the front bumper extend by 25mm and 20mm in the rear, giving it a long tapering tail. Its active rims alter cupping from 55mm to zero. Hence, making this decepticon-esque. Who doesn’t like futuristic cars?
The hybrid drive is a petrol and electric plug in with an output of 279hp. Top speed is 250 km/hr. Mercedes Concept car 2015 is also equipped with OFN, that is, Optical Finger Navigation that offers new touch based functions. What’s more? It offers the eclectic taste of the future as it enables communication with other devices and obstacles!
Toyota CHR is one of the few concept cars, shown at Frankfurt that will go into production, soon. A hybrid version is expected to hit roads by next year. More details will be revealed at the Geneva convention.
Toyota aims to reduce weight, increase rigidity, and improve efficiency of the C-HR. Perhaps, the changes are what’s delaying the launch of this concept car. This sub-compact crossover will add some funk, flare to Toyota’s otherwise fairly simple lineup.
Ever imagined that a car with the engine of a Honda MotoGP bike, could look like this! The Honda Project 2&4 is a concept car made, to reiterate Honda’s expertise in manufacturing engines for two and four wheel vehicles. The car comes with an open cockpit and the driver’s seat is suspended, uniquely, excitingly close to the road.
The motorcycle engine that the car will run on, will be controlled by a 6-speed DCT gear box. Obviously, the engine of Honda Project 2&4 Concept car has been modified to become street legal. Wonder what driving this thing would feel like? A quick glance at the vehicle, you can tell it comes with the assurance of all the driving thrill one can hope for.
Rising out of the ordinary, a Taiwanese startup named Thunder Power has emerged with an all-electric concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. This sleek Sedan looks like its designs were inspired by aquatic life forms. Thunder Power EV concept, all electric car is programmed to generate a whopping 430hp and will be able to drive for up to 373 miles, on a single charge.
Should the Taiwanese auto company live up to it’s ambitious promise, the car will go on sale in 2017. This yet-to-be-named Thunder Power EV concept will cost roughly around $63,000. This is one all-electric car everyone, including Tesla, should watch out for!
