The large dial Panerai watch from SIHH 2016 watch comes with all the signature features one expects from a Panerai. It is a dual time-zone or GMT watch that is accompanied with a 24 hours and a power reserve indicator too. And, even though it features an assortment of complications, each complication is neatly laid on the dial. The large hour markers and Arabic numerals are covered with yellowish-brown colored Super-LumiNova for visibility at night. But, Panerai doesn’t just stop there. The swords shaped central hands, the tip of small black GMT hand, the power reserve indicator at 5’o clock and the running seconds cum 24 hour indicator at 9’o clock all feature the same Super-LumiNova. Be it day or night, each function of the watch will be crisply visible to the user. However, the main highlight of the dial being the black dial with the Paris Hobnail finishing that looks super crunchy.

The GMT or Greenwich Mean Time complication can be used to display an additional time-zone. This functionality can be particularly useful for frequent flyers, who would like to keep track of the local time as well as their home time. The Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Power Reserve Automatic Acciaio comes with a self-winding mechanical movement. P.4002 caliber finished and executed by Panerai beats at a rate of 28,800 vph and delivers power storage of 72 hours when fully wound. The handsome twin-barrel movement can be seen in action through the rear of the watch. In addition, it comes with KIF Parechoc anti-shock mechanism, which helps in protecting the delicate parts of the movement by absorbing the pressure of the unwanted jolts and bumps. The 288-component movement is only 4.80 mm thick and features an off-centered oscillating weight.

The Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Power Reserve Automatic Acciaio is available in a 45 mm stainless steel case which can function correctly under water up to 100 meters of depth. The watch looks super cool and sporty with a black strap and polished steel buckle.

This is other version of the same Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days GMT Power Reserve Automatic Acciaio 45mm. The Ref. PAM 00658 comes with a dark brown and beige strap. However, when observed closely the difference is visible on the dial side too. Instead of the Paris Hobnails designed black dial, the Ref. PAM 00658 features a black dial with vertical stripes. Every other specification of the watch including the complications and the movement is exactly similar to Ref. PAM 00628. The different styling of the watches will certainly appeal to the fans of the brand.

The Ref. PAM 00627 and Ref. PAM 00657 timepieces are the two new models offering the sought-after GMT functionality. The dial of both models is available in black color but with modern alternate styling. The Ref. PAM 00627 has a Paris Hobnails finishing whereas the Ref. PAM 00657 comes with a large dial stripes pattern. GMT functionality is indicated by a small central hand accompanied by a date window at 3’o clock and a 24 hours display combined with a running seconds sub-dial on its opposite end. The mechanical movement underneath the dial is the P.4001 caliber. Made out of 278 components, the movement features a double barrel with an off-centered micro rotor. The self-winding caliber has a power reserve of 3 days. Both the models are available in 45 mm polished steel and are equipped with black leather or a dark brown strap.
