Omega rarely launches Quartz watches for men.Omega Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 is Omega’s newer version of a quartz watch that was launched in 1998. Sounds like a near smart watch, eh? It isn’t one, but has hints of digital LCD features.

The new Omega Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 has evolved from the Speedmaster Professional X-33. Omega 2014 Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 has been upgraded. It is now powered by an advanced quartz calibre. This calibre was developed to meet the needs not only of astronauts but of anyone who can appreciate its impressive variety of functions.

Speedmaster Quartz Omega 2014 watch has 12 functions.  First up the intriguing LCD dial screen. The liquid crystal display (LCD) with an electroluminescent backlight features grey segments on a black background.

The black dial, with its white indexes and hour markers, has a central opening allowing the wearer to read the displayed digital elements such as the hour, minute and seconds of up to three different time zones, three alarms, chronograph and countdown functions, and a perpetual calendar.

In addition to its analogue and digital displays, this timepiece is prepared for space exploration with two functions that will prove useful for on-duty astronauts: mission elapsed time (MET) and phase elapsed time (PET). The Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 has 12 different functions.

Skeletonised black and white hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova which emits a green light. The bold red central seconds hand is clearly visible. The hands can be disengaged to allow clear reading of the digital display.
