After the lacklustre response to two previous luxury editions, Blackberry has produced yet another Porsche Design phone. Blackberry Porsche phone 2014 is here with more luxurious exterior features than its predecessor, but nothing really new to offer on the phone technology front. Marking the third smartphone collaboration between BlackBerry and Porsche Design, the device integrates premium quality materials such as sapphire glass for the camera lens, forged stainless steel for the Porsche Design floating logo and chassis, and a special glass-weave technology for the back door. Furthermore, Porsche Design collaborated with BlackBerry for the first QWERTY version with BlackBerry 10 with specially crafted glass-like keys with the durability of rigid synthetic material, and a special 3D effect with silver font characters.

The new Blackberry luxury phone looks very similar to Blackberry Porsche P9982. New Blackberry Porsche P9983 is 10.6 mm thick and weighs about 140 gms. Its functional features are very similar to Q10 with side spines and no arrow or home buttons on face. Did you notice the shiny back cover? It’s a new glass weave technology found only on this Blackberry phone.

New Blackberry Porsche P9983 price is Euro 1650. The 2014 Blackberry Porsche phone has a qwerty keypad with 3.1 inch full touch screen with 720×720 resolution. 2MP front, 8MP rear camera & 64 GB internal memory with space to add more memory with an external memory slot. Blackberry claims that its new luxury phone can give upto 14 hours (2100 mAh) of talktime.

At a time when even economy phones flaunt a powerful processor, Blackberry chose to power its luxury device with 1.5 GHz dual core  Qualcomm MSM8960 processor. Thankfully there is 2 GB RAM.

The P’9983 smartphone also offers exclusive aftermarket accessories including handcrafted leather backdoors made from fine Italian leather that are available in the colors: Yellow, Blue Green, Dark Brown, Pomegranate, Paloma Grey, Salsa, Blue and Orange.
